Charlotte Driver

Ceramics and Ink Drawing

Charlotte's art is about connection with nature and her imaginary world. She enjoys taking earthly materials (such as clay, fire, and water) and transforming them into something of use and beauty. She does a combination of wheel throwing and hand building. What she produces can be non-functional such as Raku, Saggar, and Obvara vessels/sculptures or they may be functional such as stoneware ceramics. She is particularly drawn to the spontaneity and unpredictability of alternative ceramic firing methods which can incorporate fire, water, and fumes to achieve completely unique ceramic effects. Also, she creates original ink drawings with short stores to amuse and entertain the viewer.
