Leah Mitchell

As a native New Mexican, Leah has always been inspired by the variety of beauty New Mexico provides: bright sunsets, desert flowers, chile ristras against stucco walls, hot air balloons hovering over the Rio Grande, and so much more. She was drawn to the variety provided by mosaic.  It can be an architectural accent, add color and texture to a sculpture, present like a painting, or be the beauty of a useful household item.

Combining inspirations of nature and color with the options of mosaic, she is provided endless opportunities for creativity.  Most of her work is made from ceramics and glass, but she enjoys adding found items such as broken dishes, shells, and rocks.
