Glass is a magical material to work with. Creating a piece of glass through fusing is an exciting process, because every time before the lid of the kiln is opened, there is a moment of anticipation. Glass through its degree of transparency and different colors will surprise every time a piece is created. Marianne uses a variety of fusible glass materials such as sheet glass, frit, stringers, glass clay, dichroic and iridescent glass to create unique designs, decorative as well as utilitarian. She creates one-of-a-kind pieces such as food-safe platters, dishes and bowls, decorative items such as glass flowers, wall hangings, sun catchers, ornaments, night lights, clocks, soap dishes and candle holders.
