My first home was Chaco Canyon, where my father was the monument’s superintendent. Next came El Morro National Monument, where my brother and I explored the hills and sandstone bluffs as we developed our appreciation for the nature and history of our native region. Working for a photographer during high school in Gallup, I learned how to preserve my images and present them to other people, hoping to provide some of the same enjoyment that they give me. During a lengthy international career, I constantly carried a camera. In 2024, I returned home, where I continue to discover the beauty and complexity of the land and its inhabitants, both plant and animal, as well as the ever-changing light that spreads New Mexico’s fame among artists.
