Jackie's years in Alaska endeared her to rugged landscapes, open skies, and wildlife, and drew her to paint them. She attended art school briefly as a young adult but did not begin painting full time until retirement in 2000. She's taken a variety of classes at the NM Art League for many years, which helped her develop as an artist. Recently, she has illustrated two children's books. It is especially meaningful for her to paint a special memory for a client, which could be from a vacation photo, a portrait of a family member or special pet. Most of all, she loves the creative process that is the art of painting beauty in all its forms and learning how to do that better every day.
